Pickups.
Pickups for string instruments, particularly for electric guitars, basses, and other string instruments like violins or cellos, are devices that capture the vibrations of the strings and convert them into an electrical signal. This signal is then amplified to produce sound through a speaker. Pickups come in various types, designs, and technologies, each offering different tonal characteristics and application benefits.
Piezo pickups work by capturing the mechanical vibrations of the instrument's body or bridge rather than the strings themselves. These are often used in violins and other acoustic instruments.
Contact Pickups. These pickups capture vibrations from the body of the instrument rather than just the strings. They are commonly used on instruments like violins, cellos, and acoustic guitars. Contact microphones or pickups attach directly to the body of the instrument. Can pick up more of the instrument's resonance and body tone but may also pick up unwanted noises. Used on violins, cellos, and other orchestral string instruments.
In Tamsta music store you can find a great choice of pickups for string instruments.
